A LEGO® User Group (LUG) is a group of fans that holds regular club meetings, builds together and even puts on or attends conventions and exhibitions.
What is a Registered LUG (RLUG)?
A Registered LUG is a group that has met The LEGO® Group (TLG) registration criteria and has been accepted as a recognized user group. RVA-LUG is a Registered LUG, which also means that we have agreed to follow TLG Fair Play Policy and respect TLG brand and intellectual property.
There are significant benefits to being an RLUG that include eligibility to receive support from TLG which will be outlined for you when you join us in person.
RVA-LUG has held RLUG status since 2015.
How much does it cost to Join RVA-LUG?
Membership in RVA-LUG is free of dues. Membership eligibility levels are determined by a members participation level online, in monthly meetings, and at public events. In order to cover operating costs such as domain registration, web hosting, insurance and meeting venue hire, and other shared expenses, RVA-LUG raises funds through the sale of merchandise right here on our website. Around $5 for each product ordered goes toward the club treasury. The rest goes towards production and shipping costs.
Can I donate my used LEGO to RVA-LUG?
Yes, we can always use more LEGO. Your donation will be put to good use. It will help us extend our displays and also help us fill our play brick stations for children to build during our display events.
If you’d like to donate any LEGO related items to RVA-LUG, they would be well appreciated and used in our community outreach programs through member builds, play areas at events, and donations to local organizations such as libraries and specialty schools. Contact us to learn more. We will accept your new or used LEGO collections, too!
Use our contact form and let us know what you have available and we will be in touch as soon as possible.
Can children join RVA-LUG?
The minimum age to join RVA-LUG is 16. However, children of members are welcome to attend meetings, we simply ask that parents ensure proper supervision and that meetings are not disturbed. Each year we hold a party which doubles as a monthly meeting, and all members are welcome to bring their family or partner / significant others for a celebration of the LUG’s accomplishments that year.
Can RVA-LUG be hired for special events?
Of course! Use our contact form and let us know what you are planning!
