Inside the RVA-LUG Discord: How to Join, Get Verified, and Connect
In case you didn’t know, RVA-LUG has an official Discord server with over 100 Greater Richmond and Central Virginia Area builders, collectors, and club members chatting daily, it has quickly become our primary online hub between our in person WIllow Lawn meetings and Richmond LEGO Events like RVA Brick Day or BrickFair Virginia.
If you are looking for build advice, club event updates, or want to connect with other AFOLs in Central Virginia – you will find all of that here on our discord.
We have members from almost every county – including Henrico, Chesterfield, Hanover, and even the town of Ashland.

Who can join?
Anyone 18 and older!
Richmond Virginia LEGO User Group is an open, friendly community. We work hard to ensure that our discord server is as well.
You can join directly using our invite link:
How do I get verified?
To keep our community secure and make sure new folks don’t get overwhelmed by dozens of channels at once, we use a gradual onboarding system:
- Start in
#sign-up: When you first join, check out the#sign-upchannel to read our basic guidelines and complete the quick verification process. - Initial Access: Once verified, you’ll unlock our main public conversation areas.
- Earn Full Access: As you introduce yourself and participate in discussions, additional categories and specialized channels will automatically unlock.
This gradual rollout keeps spam out and helps you get oriented without a wall of text hitting you on day one.
What’s happening on the server?
A ton of LEGO talk, naturally – along with an awesome group of regulars who hang out every day.
- Event Coordination: Discord is the best place to catch schedule announcements, display coordination details, and monthly meeting updates.
- Workshops & Casual Hangouts: We run impromptu community events, build challenges, and voice chats to talk technique and club plans.
- Custom Bot Tools: We’ve built in several handy automated tools, managed by our own custom bot named RVIS, directly in the channels, including set lookups, inventory search, and image-based part identification.

What channels are waiting for you?
Once inside and verified, you’ll find dedicated channels focused on how you build and collect:
- General & Voice Hangouts: Casual conversation, daily banter, and voice rooms for build nights.
- MOC Showcase & WIPs: Share your works in progress, get constructive feedback, and show off finished builds.
- Building Techniques & Q&A: Stuck on a tricky geometry problem or looking for the right bracket? Ask the group.
- Market & Parts Talk: Discussions on set deals, draft planning, and element hunting.
