Richmond VA LEGO User Group News for April 2026

What an Incredible March!

Now that the bricks have been packed away and the dust has settled, we wanted to take a moment to look back at RVA Brick Day 2026.

This was our best RVA Brick Day event yet. Seeing the Guzman Community Center filled with so many creative builders and enthusiastic fans was a great reminder of why the RVA-LUG community is so special. Whether you were an exhibitor, a volunteer, or a guest that came out to share in the fun, thank you for being part of this milestone.

BrickFair Fredericksburg Recap

RVA-LUG joined many other mid-Atlantic LUGs at BrickFair Fredericksburg the weekend of March 28th and 29th!

A huge congratulations to RVA-LUG member Tyler G. for his nomination for MOST INSPIRING at this massive event. His Urithiru model from the Stormlight Archives was a total showstopper.

A Touch of MAERSK

To celebrate the launch of the LEGO® set 40955 Maersk Dual Fuel Container Vessel, LEGO has chosen a select few North American LUGs for a new opportunity called “A Touch of Maersk.” RVA-LUG is one of only 7 communities chosen to participate! We are receiving approximately 40,000 elements in these specific colors:

  • Medium Azure & New Dark Red
  • Black & White
  • Medium Stone Grey & Dark Stone Grey

This opportunity centers on transforming our current builds by integrating Maersk branding, storytelling, and color blocking in bold and creative ways. This is not about starting over. It is about evolution.

Be sure to join us at our next meeting on April 18th to learn more about this opportunity and help us incorporate a TOUCH OF MAERSK into our Ashland Train Day display.

April Featured Builder: Josh Holzbach!

Favorite LEGO Theme? “It’s a tossup between either Marvel or Nintendo, with Harry Potter not that far behind.”

Last Set Built? “Soundwave from the Transformers line. I already had Optimus Prime and Bumblebee, and the sound brick was a huge draw. I grabbed it with a $10 promo at Kohl’s back in October!”

Earliest LEGO Memory? “Building the Voltron set as an adult! If I had LEGO as a kid, I was young enough that I don’t remember the specifics.”
